So I've got some scheduling conflicts next year, and I was looking for advice on what I should drop/try to take independent study.

First conflict: I had to drop AP Java for AP English. My options: I can take Honors Java another period and be kinda bored, or I can take American Political Systems Honors. Any thoughts? In addition, my dad is a Java programmer by profession. He can help me in java all I need.

Second conflict: I have to drop either AP Calc BC, AP Euro, or AP Physics C for AP Econ. I REALLY want to take Econ and my Euro teacher refuses to do independent studies. I'm negotiating with the other two (Physics and Calc) to see if either will let me do an independent study. If both say okay, which do you think would be easier to do on my own? Also, should I take a study hall (and maybe use it to facilitate my independent study) or should I fill it with AP Environmental?

Any thoughts?

You've got plenty of rigor in that schedule already. Do what will make you the happiest, least-stressed person.

I don't think AP Java (If it is AP Comp SC AB) will be better than AP English.
If you are good at Java and have help at home then you can appear at AP Comp Sc AB by taking Hons. Java.

For AP Physics C you will need understanding of Calculus.
What was your last Math course. If you had taken a Hons. pre calculus course with trignometry then you might be able to handle AP calc BC otherwise take AP Calc AB.

AP Euro is tough and will require lots of reading/writting.

AP Economics is a good course and if you like ECO you should take it.

I already took AB Calc and pulled an A+ with very little studying; I like math a lot.

English is a requirement at my school, so I have to drop Java either way.

My real issue now is where to put Econ... I want to keep Euro, because I want to be president of the History Club, which the Euro teacher is running next year, and dropping his class would not be a smart move. My physics teacher said that he can't do an independent study, but he knows of some online places where you can take the course, and he would be free for me to come in for extra help if I need it. I also don't think I can drop BC Calc because the class is only 10 people as it is, and if I drop they might not run it. So... do you think I should take the online course?
