Scholars for Medicine Program

Does anyone know that if I'm rejected from the Scholars for Medicine program, will my application still be considered for regular admissions/honors college?

In addition, if I am (by some miracle) accepted to the S of M program, can I reject that offer and just attend Honors College?

You can’t be accepted to the Scholars for Medicine Program until you’ve been accepted to the Honors College, and you can’t be accepted to the Honors College unless you’ve been accepted to Stony Brook.

Sure you can reject SFM and just attend the Honors College but why the hell would you do that lol? You know how many people would kill for that spot? If you plan on going to med school why reject it, or if you no longer want to be a doctor why apply in the first place? Lol jus a little bit confused…

If I checked off the S&M Program on my common app, but I now just want to apply to the regular school and nothing else, will I be looked at for Regular Decision if I completed my common app but didn’t complete/follow up on the S&M portion?

I mean yes but didn’t you already write/turn in an essay for the program? If you want call admissions and ask them to take you off the applicant list for SHM.

Does anyone know what the word limit for the Scholars for Medicine essay is?

I don’t believe there was one. Don’t go crazy but say what you need to say to be convincing that this program is the right place for your.
