SCHOLARS (Mount Leadership Society)

Hey everyone.

Last year I remember using CC all of the time for various college questions and concerns. As a freshman at Ohio State, I am so happy I used this forum as a resource because I have never been happier in my entire life. This site also introduced me to numerous new opportunities which have made the transition to college all the more easier.

I am a member of the Mount Leadership Society Scholars Program so if any of you have already applied for it or are planning on it (Scholars students typically have a 27-29 ACT, have already been admitted to OSU, and are also in the top 20% of their class), let me tell you: It is absolutely incredible!

All students accepted into the program will live together (unless you are a commuter student) in Halloran House on north (this creates a community unparalleled by any learning community currently offered at Ohio State). There is leadership training, faculty interaction, and monthly service projects which develop a community and “family” like no other while not being “too much to do”. Freshman Mount scholars also attend “Mount Launch Week” which allows them to show up to school a week early to do service projects, ice breakers, and leadership activities as well as introduce them to Ohio State life. By the time most freshman are showing up to move in, most Mount Scholars already have a great group of friends to hang out with.
