I am currently considering transferring back to my home state from my current school on the east coast. I recently received an engineering scholarship worth $2,000 a year from my current school. I have to accept or decline it.

Since I am not 100% sure if I am returning to my current school, would I get in any trouble for accepting the scholarship and then later transferring?

I have not heard back from the school I am transferring to, and the deadline for the scholarship is coming up shortly.

Suggestions or advice greatly appreciated.

If you don't get in to the other school as a transfer will you stay where you are?
Then accept the scholarship.

If you don't get in to the other school as a transfer are you leaving anyway?
Then turn it down.

Wishing you all the best.

Well the issue is I am probably going to find out if I got accepted as a transfer after the deadline for accepting the scholarship has passed.

Basically my question is this:
Would I be held financially responsible for accepting the scholarship and not attending that school next semester? They can just give the scholarship to someone else right?
