I know it's best to turn in a scholarship before the deadline....

but when the scholarship says deadline April 30th...can I mail off my scholarship app on April 30th...lets say at 9am and still be considered eligible for the scholarship?

It depends on the scholarship. If it doesn't specify a postmark deadline, it could be either (must be recieved by April 30th or postmarked by April 30th). Most scholarships I've ever applied for are postmark deadlines, so you're probably fine.

By the way, if you're referring to the Harrington scholarship, I'm not exactly sure either. I mailed it off today, but I somehow doubt it will actually reach Iowa by Monday. It's not that long of an application though, so I'd go ahead and send it if I were you (assuming of course this is the Harrington you're talking about).

Th Harrington says applications received outside the timeframe will be discarded, but mathwizard is right, might still be worth a shot...if it is the Harrington.
