For the Alumni Scholarship, how picky to you think they are about the postmark date? My teachers didn't give their letters to me when I last saw them, so do you think it'll be too late if they send out the letters, like, a couple days after the postmark date?

Errr...that's an interesting point. It technically can't be your fault. But if the committee is nitpicky, then you're SOL. Try to call the Alumni Center and ask. If it absolutely must be postmarked by then, you're going to have to find a way to get your teachers (over this weekend) to send it.

My hunch is, though (which is not the absolute truth, mind you) they would be reluctant to make exceptions because then others will try to do the same.

But isn't it preferable that the scholarship committee said that you send everything?

1 or 2 days may not make a difference - but it depends largely on a) how many other students apply - the more mail they have to open, the less nitpicky they'll be... and b) how far you live from the AS office - if you're a continent away, you can probably excuse yourself on account of irregular mail service.
