either rejection or nothing in nj

Hi guys! This thread seems to be veering off of course. This is for scholarship letters: Presidential, Trustee, or Dean for those who have already been admitted. Thanks!

PS: Waiting for my mail. is not neurotic

Bluereedz, you have time until May 31 to let NMSC know that USC is your first choice school (This is what a Fin aid rep at USC told me)…But you may want to do it earlier…USC will send you National Merit finalist Presidential scholarship award after NMSC let them know that you have chosen them as first choice school…

So my advice is, take your time in case you have other places in mind that award National Merit based scholarships…If you choose a school as first choice school and get a scholarship from that school then you cannot go back and change it…

My neighbors are going to hear a scream of frustration and anxiety if there is no mail from USC today!

if i get notified that i don’t get the scholarship (do they notify us same day?), then i will just be sad but no scream. haha

We live in the Bay Area in California and no letter. The wait is a killer!

no letter in orange county(southern california). the wait is killing me!

i am unhappy. oh and impatient. but sad because i know that mail doesnt come on sundays. :'(

I attended the reception at President Sample’s house this afternoon. It was a wonderful event, we actually were able to chat with Pres. Sample and many admissions officers. One officer stated that they were aiming to mail the Trustee and Pres. notifications today, Saturday, but they did not finish, so they will go out on Monday.

ahhhhhhhh. so that means that so. cal people will get hte mail on Tuesday, which is also the day that Ivy League schools are releasing decisions. What an eventful Tuesday!

Tuesday is going to be such a nervewracking day…ughhh

Got the same information as trueblue40. Monday is the day letters are to be mailed out.

Ah goodness. I guess I’ll find out on April 10th, when I return from Europe.
Good luck to you guys! I’ll be inactive.

Have a great trip NonSenescent!! There will be big buck waiting for you when you return I’m sure!

Fight On!

Seriously, the scholarship for NMF is 1/2?! I should have applied here…

President Sample I think mentioned that USC has more NMF than any other Univerisity in the Nation. I’m sure 1/2 tuition is a big reason why.

Did he mention how many people who interviewed for Presidential actually got them?

No he didn’t mention those numbers.

But I just checked Oasis and my S’s status was changed today. So It sounds like Scholarship Decisions are hitting the mail today as promised. His date remains the same but it now reads:

The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. If for some reason you have not received our written notification, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning April 11th.

Click here to submit mid-year grades online.

Click here to see status of specific documents, or to turn in missing items.
Status last updated: 01/24/2009

yeah I got that message too now except that my date is 3/11/2009 which is the date I got access to the Explore Website

I don’t know if this is a system wide change or a change that is only generated by a system generated letter, like the trustee/presidential scholarship letters.

Last year we just got a letter in the mail. There were no further status changes on OASIS at all, since scholarship interviewees were already accepted. Plus most of us got the “acted upon” way back in January/early Feb…
Maybe it’s different this year.
Good luck everyone on the scholarships. I hope everyone gets what they interviewed for! Looks like So Cal people will know tomorrow.
