Scholarship for Tennessee Residents

Seems like a very strange question but thought I would ask here: S has been accepted to McCombs so I called a TX friend to gain more insight on UT and other schools. She is a real estate attorney for a large corporation in Dallas; she mentioned that she had heard of a very random scholarship for Tennessee residents offering in-state tuition because of TN helping Texas with gaining its independence/Alama/Davy Crockett references. That is all she could tell me. I have looked for days with no results.

Anyone heard of anything like this?

No, but it sounds cool! I wish there were a scholarship for descendants of people who moved from Tennessee to fight for Texas! My great-great grandfather moved to Texas when my great-grandfather was two years old, solely to fight with Sam Houston. But now we’re stuck paying OOS tuition since we live in Maine. Oh, well!
