Scholarship Info

I got an email saying that I was accepted into IU and that my admissions packet should come in the next 2 weeks. I think im eligible for a university scholarship and was wondering if the university tells you if you receive any scholarship money with your acceptance letter.

Also can anyone tell me about how much they would expect me to get scholarship wise? Here are my stats...

OOS
Legacy
3.45 uw Gpa
27 ACT
over 40 community college credits with a 3.3 gpa and membership in Phi Theta Kappa

thanks

A friend of my son's received his scholarship information in the same packet as his acceptance.

It was $1,000 a year for 4 years. Your grades are much better (his was around 3.25) so maybe you will get more.

How long did it take to get your acceptance after you submitted your application?

i also would like to know how long it took u to get yoru acceptance

My acceptance letter came about two weeks after the online acceptance.

I am oos
28 ACT
3.6 uw and 4.1w gpa

My scholarship is $3750 per year for four years.

mine took about a week after they had recieved my high school counselor report and transcripts.

My kid got into Indiana today so I can stop asking the question how long does it take....? :)

Congrats to your S., dstark! I'm assuming he found out online? Last year, they sent out a big envelope that had "You're In!" splashed on the front. That's also where you'll find the scholarship letter. Hope they show you the money!

Thanks, GoBlueAlumMom. Yes. He found out online.

Remember that if you do well your first semester at school that you can fax your grades to Indiana for scholarship reconsideration. A few people I know did that and got it increased.

Just got my letter today...$3750/year.

My GPA is a 3.45 right now but it should go up to a 3.53ish by the end of the semester. Do you think I could get more scholarship money by increasing my gpa by that much?

You could get more, no harm in trying.

I should also have enough transfer credits to graduate in 2 - 2 1/2 years. is there anyway to negotiate with the university to get the 15k over 2 years rather than over 4?

Probably not, talk to them about it.

Why the heck would you only want to graduate in 2 years? College is the best part of your life. Look at threads in the parents forum, one said that their biggest mistake was only being in college for 4 years.

I'm not 100% sure...I might get a double or maybe a triple major and I know I am most likely going to grad school. Just a thought though...
