Scholarship info?

Anyone hear scholarship info? I already got a scholarship to A&M and I was wondering when UT was gonna tell me if I got anything. I really want to go to UT and if I get a scholarship then I will be ready to pay my enrollment deposit so I can get a housing contract. I don't want to pay the deposit and find out I get nothing later on.

I believe it depends on what school you applied to and to what specific scholarships you selected through the UT scholarship application. I know that I got a letter regarding my scholarship status from the school of engineering a few days ago. Unfortunately, I did not receive one, but I did not think I would anyways. Personally, I would just pay the deposit since it is refundable up until May 1, and since on campus housing is quite limited at UT Austin. After all, it is better to be safe then sorry....well, thats why I payed the deposit and got a contract.

Ok, because I did the common scholarship application and got word that I was a finalist for the Terry Scholarship, but other than that I haven't heard anything else. I am in the College of Natural Sciences.

Hey, we're twins! I am a finalist for the Terry Scholarship and in the College of Natural Sciences too.

The deposits refundable. Why didnt nobody tell me?

I received $20,000 scholarship from the college of engineering several weeks ago (for four years). But apparently i'm not good enough for honors engineering. go figure lol

so jjkitty you're up for the terry scholarship too?? where u from, just wondering. i'm from san antonio

hey, me too!

really? what school?

Anyone hear from UT about any scholarships without a need component? Any scholarships in Liberal Arts w/o need? Plan II?

JROC baby!

Judson, eh??? sorry i'm from the south side so thats what i'm guessing...you're a girl right?? well hope to see ya soon at UT....hook 'em horns!!!!!! yesssss

I called the financial aid office today and they said that they would be looking at FAFSA during March for grants/loans and then the scholarship applications would be looked at throughout April, late April even.

Is the Terry based on financial need? I haven't gotten any scholarships whatsoever from UT. I've gotten at least something everywhere else I applied. It's making me feel a little discouraged.

No UT hasn't sent me a notification about any scholarships either, just the Terry one because it requires an interview. I think if you are awarded a large scholarship they will tell you before May 1 but they will award smaller ones throughout the summer. This is what I have read so I'm not 100% sure.
