My son's admission status page has a new note, indicating: Congratulations on your Scholarship! View your award(s) Online now. However, the link takes you to studentaid.rutgers.edu with no obvious way to view the scholarship. Even if you click, check award status and enter the SSN and birthdate, nothing comes up.

After reading your post, we checked and had the same experience…scholarship indicated but no way to discover what it is. Are you going to wait for an update or call? We would like to know what the scholarship is.

I definitely remember seeing the scholarship award online before getting anything in the mail. They could have gotten ahead of themselves and started posting links without actually updating the info. If anything, take it as a sign that they will be posted soon.

I tried phoning financial aid again just now and got through after about 10 minutes. They said the ‘system is down.’ They don’t know when it will be up and running, but they took D’s info and promised to call back later today/tonight.

if my page doesn’t have that “Congratulations on your Scholarship! View your award(s) Online now.” does that mean im not qualified to get scholarship?

We actually emailed admissions this morning. I expect to hear back from them either Friday or Monday, given their response time to past inquiries.

I think it’s safe to assume that if you got a note “Congratulations on your Scholarship! View your award(s) Online now” then you can rest assured that you indeed have a scholarship to at least one of the schools to which you were accepted. The response that celesteroberts reported that the system was down seems to indicate that the admissions database is not yet synced up with the financial aid database.

Kind of sums of the Rutgers I knew from the '80s: great academics, great opportunities, but the user experience could still use some TLC.

I did speak with Admissions. They said be patient. They had many phone calls yesterday about this issue. He said it will be available on-line soon. Letters should also arrive in the mail. No specific date was given.

So i just spoke to a financial aid representative, who said that the scholarship awards page available now is apparently for those students starting in the spring semester and that merit aid will not be available until around April -_-. I dont know how that is possible since in all previous years, merit aid was announced in late December, but thats what I was told.

It’s amazing that they can’t even make their website function properly, or have knowledgable people fielding questions @ admissions office. They also will miss out on enrolling top ED students who don’t get enough Fin. Aid money from their ED school.
