Scholarship interview clothes

What is the appropriate clothes for a guy to wear for a scholarship interview at USC?
Is a suit or sports jacket with khakis a must or is a tie sufficient?

Given our recent weather of late, you might want that jacket! It's 57 today with huge downpours.

A sports jacket with khakis, tie optional if shirt is nice, would be good.

If you get someone from the Math Dept intervewing you, it might be my H. :)

We actually have hail falling here near the coast right now (in LA area). It's really cold today.
mdcissp, is your son interviewing for a scholarship to be applied to sophmore year? If so, good luck. He will be fine with decent pants, and shirt with a sweater. Maybe a tie. Jacket is really not necessary, but I agree, if it's this cold come interview day...take the jacket.

A jacket is always good, but no jacket is sometimes bad. I wouldn't go out and buy one, but I would wear it if I had it.
