I’m so grateful to USC for this unbelievable opportunity!!! Fight On!!!

Do we have any idea when the scholarship information will be posted on USConnect?

In the past, it has appeared on the financial aid tab approximately the same time as the financial aid packages have been released, which have at the end of the first week of April to mid-April.

Congrats to the scholarship awardees!

Interviewed for Presidential

Letter received today (Southern California), two very happy girls (DD is a freshman at USC)s

If you weren’t part of this group that interviewed for all that has been discussed on here that got scholarship notification back in January does that mean that you will not be receiving any merit money come Friday? Or if so, is it just really small amounts? I’m thought there was, but have a friend that is convinced there isn’t any more and has been positioning her daughter that USC is not an option, not that they need it so much but feels it an insult not to get anything… She figures since this group seems so important to USC, everyone else is treated like nothing special. Gotta tell ya, she is starting to persuade me. Is her thinking correct in regards to all merit money being out there already?

^I think there are Deans Scholarships, among others, that have yet to be awarded. You’ll find out in a couple days! Good luck :)

As a hs senior, I hope to receive some money. But I don’t think it’s a university’s duty to make me feel special. If I get money, great. If not, whatever. It’s life. The people that do get these awards are exceptional, and I don’t think we need to be babied and built up when were not the best. You’re getting into a top institution, that’s a pretty big deal. I’m sick of everyone in society wanting 10 valedictorians so feelings aren’t hurt, participation awards past age 10 and a demand for self esteem “equality”. I know I’m ranting, but I’ve experienced so much of this in the past two weeks I’ve had enough. You get what you put in. Welcome to life where being nothing special is the norm and you have to earn respect and accolades.

Viterbi, interviewed for Presidential and got it! I’m so happy because I wouldn’t have been able to attend without this money :)

Got letter in mail today!

@irish6814 I actually have one there on full scholarship, but was trying to be sympathetic to her viewpoint and give her some reason to not be so down on the school. But you are right, survival of the fittest rules! I just wasn’t sure if there was still some $ out there…

@CADREAMIN

I apologize for my rudeness, I understood your viewpoint and what you were saying. It was not meant to be an attack on you at all, even if it came out like that. Just a simple message I thought should be out out there for the kids who don’t get scholarships. You may not be the tippy top, but there’s a reason people are. It wouldn’t be the top if everyone was there. You still got into an incredible institution so there is your reward. So I do apologize for that. Also yes I believe there is some money left, just smaller awards or more specified.

The university grants can be very generous. I would advise everyone to wait for the financial aid documents.

The recipients of the largest USC scholarships are being notified this week. However, there are still some scholarships offered by support groups that have their own timeline. Here are some:

Ethnic Club Scholarships- Amount varies

Town & Gown-$6,000 to $10,000

Norman Topping Student Aid Fund-Amount varies

Private alumni scholarships donated through individual schools-Amount varies-Usually under $10,000.

To Georgia Girl:
I tried to PM you yesterday, but it turns out that I haven’t posted enough to do that.

Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement! USC is definitely at the top of my list; it really is a spectacular place to be. I will start preparing for the fall soon, and I hope I can count on you when I have any questions!

Thanks again! :)
