Scholarship made out to me?

<p>So I got a $1000 scholarship today and the check was made out to me. No where did it have my university's name. I deposited the check into my bank account and bought a netbook to use for taking notes on in class. What do I do with the other $700?</p>

<p>Preferably I could put it into my FA account, but have no idea how to do it because my required fees are all covered by grants. </p>

<p>Do I just save it? Spend it on a backpack, dorm supplies?</p>

<p>Be aware that you are supposed to let the college know, and most schools will reduce your aid accordingly. If you have no other use for it, it would be wise to comply with those rules so that you don’t jeopardize your very generous awards from your school if they should find out.</p>
