Scholarship Notifications for UCF'25?

You report the grade the high school gave her. UCF recalculates just the 4 core and foreign language- they throw the rest out. .5 bump up for honors and 1 for AP/IB.

BTW each professor at UCF can make up their own grading scale for the class. D18 has had classes where 95 is the A, 94.9 is and A-.

I didn’t hear it anywhere. I see it on my freshman son’s academic audit. He has satisfied his summer requirement yet just started school last fall and only came in with AP credit, no college credit. I believe I saw a form that listed the AP classes as satisfying that requirement last summer but cannot remember where I saw that. I wouldn’t have known it was the AP credit that satisfied the requirement unless I had seen it.

But I suggest that if this is something you need confirmation on in order to make a decision, you contact the school to confirm.

I see the same thing on my daughter’s Knights Audit. I have sent an email to undergrad admissions and will post the answer
if I get one.

I am watching our local news and the Pantone colors of the year are “Illuminating” (a bright yellow) and “Ultimate Gray”
 great colors for the UCF!!

I just wanted to share with anyone who is still waiting for a potential scholarship offer from UCF. My son reached out to admissions last week and asked whether more awards were forthcoming. He was told that at this point, they are only awarding additional scholarships on a case-by-case basis. My son was asked to submit the scholarship offers from other schools he applied to and any academic honors/highlights for further review. They passed along his file to the scholarship committee on Monday. I am so happy to say that today, we found out my son was awarded the Pegasus Bronze scholarship for $30,000/4-years (OOS).

I wanted to pass along this information to anyone who might still be waiting for scholarship information. I am proud to say my son officially committed to UCF today. My husband and I both graduated from UCF and are thrilled to have another Knight in the house!!!

That is great to hear! Mine has gotten amazing merit from every school except them!!! But she also went in test optional to every other school except those in FL. Do you mind me asking what his stats are? Not even sure mine is gonna bother with them, at this point if she hasn’t gotten any money I am thinking she isn’t getting any.

His UCF recalculated GPA is 4.1 and SATs were 1380. Not too many clubs or electives (2 clubs and a competitive fencer). Also, he will complete the Project Lead the Way engineering certificate this spring along with 7 AP courses. He also received the All-American academic award from USA fencing. He received considerable scholarships from U of Tennessee, U of South Carolina, West Virginia University and University of Maryland Baltimore Campus (UMBC). That’s basically what we submitted to the scholarship committee.

Basically mine was told she isn’t getting one! her test scores weren’t great, thats why she went test optional for all her other schools.

Sorry to hear that. UCF is a numbers school. They want test scores and GPA to be at a certain level before they will offer merit. The fact that your D had a great GPA and they admitted her to Summer is ridiculous.

D18 was in a similar situation- UCF was a safety to get into, but she was shut out for merit because of her SAT. They don’t care how hard you worked in school unless you test well.

That is crazy. To me it should matter what you over 4 years not a test that lasts a few hours. And especially this year. Mine couldn’t take the test like she wanted to as it kept getting cancelled. She has a 4.67 gpa and tons of leadership, activities and service. She even got money from penn state and they never give money!! She likes UCF but it wasn’t her top choice to be that concerned, it’s just frustrating how much emphasis they place on a test.

100% agree- especially this year! Good luck with her other schools, I’m glad UCF was not her #1.

BTW- D18 has a very nice GPA at UCF- so glad that her poor test score hasn’t held her back

Hi! My daughter just saw this same award in her portal. However, it doesn’t say how much it is for. Did you ever find out any info about it?

Same! Did you ever find out? It just appeared in my daughter’s portal today.

Yes we did. It is 11k per year so definitely not instate tuition.

Has any oos students heard back about scholarships? I was accepted in october and haven’t seen anything about scholarships. My stats are 25 ACT (ss 27) 4.2 gpa 6 APs and all honors classes.

Nope
and when my daughter reached out she was basically told that if she didn’t hear that meant she most likely wouldn’t be getting one. Not sure how it was worded but it was pretty much blunt and to the point lol

Yes S21 OOS received 11K per year. His stats are 4.0UW 4.6W 1470 SAT.

I heard back around December after getting in around Octoberish for an OOS scholarship

Yes. My son is OOS. He received a Pegasus Bronze scholarship. He applied in October and he heard about the scholarship in early January. He had a 1380 SAT and a 4.15 UCF recalculated GPA.

Does anyone have concerns/ know details about about the new requirement starting summer 2021 of 15 credits per semester to keep scholarship? It makes me nervous. D would plan to take 15+ credits per semester anyway, but from what I understand, the old rules were only 12 credits per semester and that would have given her a little wiggle room to drop or withdraw from a class if things weren’t going well. She plans to major in Electrical Engineering and has a great work ethic, will go to TA, office hours, but I know this can be a challenging major. I plan to go to the UCF virtual open house this week and hope to find out more details.
