I'd really like to receive the Stamps Leadership scholarship, which covers the full cost of attendance, as well as a $14,000 enrichment stipend. I qualify to be considered, but it says only the top 10 entering freshmen will receive it. I have an ACT of 33, gpa of 4.4, class rank of 2/7, I'm involved in leadership roles, and I'm a National Merit Finalist. Can anyone tell me if it's likely I'll get the scholarship?

Well, your GPA will be weighted by LSU. So it may not be a 4.4. Also, your class rank (I can’t figure yours – are you two out of seven students in your class?) is not considered.
First, you have to get into the Honor College. As it says on their site, Honors College admission is very competitive. Selection for incoming first-year students is based on high school GPA, ACT or SAT scores, and the writing test of the ACT or SAT. The writing sample is weighed on an even scale with GPA and standardized exam scores, so special consideration should be given to this component of the application. The strength of courses taken in high school will be considered and is factored into the calculation of the high school GPA by the Office of Undergraduate Admission and Student Aid.
Then you have to get the scholarship. As it says on the site, the top candidates will be invited to compete for the Stamps Leadership Scholarships by submitting a description of their high school activities and achievements (academic and co-curricular); completing short essays that will give candidates the opportunity to display their experiences of and reflections on leadership and perseverance, scholarship, demonstrated and active involvement in service, and innovation; and participating in on-campus interviews led by an Honors College representative who will chair a selection committee composed of LSU faculty members.
So, with all that, the information you provided, and a quick assessment by me of the writing in your post, I would say it’s not likely. But try anyway. It can’t hurt.
