Now is the time to yell at your parents for having money.

i got the Eliot scholarship for 20550 too. I find it interesting that the same scholarship is being given in different amounts. Are they all the Eliot scholarship? Either way i'm excited!

I got my Eliot Scholarship for around 20K today. According to the info that came in the packet, apparently eligibility for the scholarship is determined by academic merit, while the amount of scholarship given is determined by need. Someone please correct me on this if I'm wrong.

Oh, and I assumed that the Eliot Scholarship was the general one given to those applying for Arts in Sciences, while the other ones may be given to those applying for different divisons...

I got a whopping sum of: 0 USD from WU. It really doesn't look like I'll be attending WU now.

Yay!!! I got just a tad bit more: $0.00 Woohoo!

Yay!, I got about 19000 from Washu+2000 for student work! loans are about 3000 though...

I'm a John M Olin Scholar..... I got 29,500 scholarship plus 6,625 student contribution.

36,125 altogether. I'm super thankful. I will no doubt go to Wash U now.

I've also applied to several other scholarships outside at my mom's work and elsewhere....

Wahooooooooo... just got the letters today!

I'm so stoked:

got the Elliot Scholarship for like 13k and a loan for 2k... meets my need of 13k quite nicely and I'll probably graduate with no debt.

WashU just SOARED on my college list... yay!

Why does my life suck so much?

anyone for Gustav Kurtz Mesmer scholarship?

I got $0, but thats basically all I was expecting. I still don't know if I'm going to wustl or not yet...

Johnnydr, I got the Olin as well, but only for a meek $7,200. Looks like WashU will still be a bit expensive for me. Also, did anyone see the sheet where you must fill out certain criteria numbers from the codes in the back of the fin aid book? It says this actually determines eligibility for the scholarship they have already given you! This was a little confusing to me.

This confused us too when we received it LY. What they are asking for is that you list codes of any group or catagory that you fit into such as 'graduate of XXXXXX high school' or ancestor of WWII Vet, etc. WashU has $ that has been donated for scholarships especially to benefit students that fit into these groups. These specific accounts are where they will pull money from to cover your award. It's not an eligibility thing it's a bookkeeping thing. No worries!

EDIT: Found the info in the packet.

I got the letter today. I am a Gustav Hurt Mesmer Scholar. Woopie...a whopping $4900. I love being upper middle class. I doubt I can go to WashU anymore. They are making me pay more than 4000 more than fafsa said my EFC was.

I got the Thomas Eliot for 20,550 as well. Sigh, this will not be enough to sway me from going to my state university who's offering me a full ride.

I'm definitely middle class too....

But doesn't everybody like to say they're middle class, even those considered rich?

I got a 28,000 Eliot and 10,000 Enterprise scholarship. Cheah!!! Hopefully i get the Ervin too then I will be super happy

Congrats...!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't WashU just keep increasing the Stafford/Perkins loans to the max each year and lowering your scholarship?
