My S received an invitation to a brunch from the dean of the business school to congratulate him on his "scholarship". Since he's received nothing from Fordham other than the acceptance email, and there's nothing on OASIS, and he did not get any of those "likely" letters, etc etc...., it was a little surprising. He was expecting his packet today, but instead it was a tiny little envelope. Anyone else get one?

congrats that must have been a nice surprise! would you mind posting your sons stats?

Sure: SAT 1580/2280, NMF, 3.6 uw/4.0 w, all honors/APs. But no "early regular decision" letter, so we weren't too optimistic about any scholarship $$.
But it looks like he may have gotten something. We'll see!

tubamomNY - You definitely read my mind. I came on CC for the sole purpose of posting a thread asking the same question that you have. I received the same small envelope commending me on my 'scholarship' and inviting me to the brunch. I did receive one of those likely letters however your son has significantly higher SAT's than I do so I don't get what is up with that. Either way I was wondering about the scholarship since I received no word of it until now - since finances do matter for my family, it would impact whether it would be worthwhile for me to attend the brunch or not, but I guess it will come soon.

i got the same little envelope/letter about the scholarship and a likely letter back in february, but i never got an acceptance in the mail, no packet, nothing, though i did get an acceptance email
should i call and see what's up?

if he was an NMF he probably got the Full-Tuition Semifinalists scholarship which I just got today for being a National Hispanic Scholar... congratulations :)

what about the national caucasian scholar
i sure hope there is no discrimination!

MmCheezItsYay - yup, that's what it was - national semifinalist scholarship.
Congrats to you, too!
