Do any colleges offer scholarships for subsequent years to students who maintain a high GPA their freshman year?

I'm primarily thinking of students who have a stellar grade history, but due to poor standardized testing results were not eligible or competitive for merit scholarships when they entered college their freshman year.

There are some but not nearly as many as for freshman year. You will want to check for ones that are available throughout the university and others that are only for students in specific disciplines.

I have done some research about this from my daughter's college. I don't about all schools, but hers does indeed have various scholarships that can only be given to students after completing at least one year.

Try searching your school's website. Try search terms such as 'scholarships', 'scholarships for returning students' and 'college of xxxxxxx scholarships'. Also try, 'scholarships for xxxxxxx majors'. Many times, the listings will be for outside scholarships, but you may, on occasion, find some that are awarded through the university. These can be from the uni itself or from a corporate sponsor. They may require an application, letters of recommendation, and essay/s.

Yes, scholarship descriptions state who can apply. Many are actually limited to certain undergraduate levels and majors.

There can be departmental scholarships, alumni sponsored scholarships, major specific scholarships. As mentioned, check the schools website, undergrad handbook, or have your d meet with a financial aid rep at the school. It is all very school specific.
