Scholarships and Honors College

I was given the University Freshman Scholarship ($9600) as well as invited to the University's honors program. I had a few questions. First off, when i log on to my status check, next to the scholarship, i can either accept or tentatively accept. What is the difference between the two. Will i be forced to enroll at FSU before May 1st to secure the scholarship or what? And secondly, how do i accept my place in the honors college? Must i enroll and what money must i deposit to secure my spot should i enroll at FSU come May 1st.

hey so i just checked the site to see if I got a scholarship and I did haha but I was really wondering if I got in to the Honors program…how did u find out? Did they email you via ur personal email or ur fsu email or through the mail…let me know! Thanks and btw i think that tentative accept is like im interested but ill let u know by may 1st…

what GPA/SAT/ACT did you have that got you into honors and offered a scholarship?

@ Collegegirl-I was informed of my admission into the honors program first by email letting me know and I then received a packet in the mail with information and what not.

FSU2014- I have a FSU weighted GPA of 4.0 and an ACT of 30. I don’t know if service or EC’s are even considered, but mine were pretty solid which may have had an influence.

Anyone can confirm or answer my questions confidently?

Congratulations on your acceptance and award!

If you are going to enroll at FSU accept the scholarship. If you aren’t sure, tentatively accept. If you’re not really interested refuse the money and let it go elsewhere.

Thank you. Thats exactly what I needed to know. And thank you for the congrats by the way.

By the way, act quickly. There are many others who want that slot and award.

oh okay…
i have a 3.73 FSU weighted GPA, and a 30 ACT/2010 SAT…

do you think they would reconsider me after my mid-year report comes out?

Ok…but did it come in your fsu email or normal email? haha…and Congrats btw! :)

Oh, it came through my personal email. I don’t believe I have a FSU email account as of now.

Oh ok thanks so much! Someone said that it came to them via their fsu email, thats where they got the email about that and scholarships too so after realizing i got the freshman scholarship and didnt get an email i wondered if myb i needed to create a fsu email so I activated my id and got an email address…

It seems that I was stupid/lazy by not taking the ACT again to get higher than the 28 I got in June. I was not offered any scholarship by FSU (my FSU gpa was 3.9). I was wondering if I retook the next ACT (and did better of course) they could still offer me a scholarship. Has anyone heard of this sort of thing happen before or have I learned a lesson the real hard way? The next sign up deadline is like January 5th so I want to know if should retake it or would I basically be lighting the money on fire? I plan on calling the school again but they don’t tell you much about scholarships. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Scholarship money is limited so you must be prompt. Retaking the test(s) is fine…you could appeal for entry to Honors.

yeah i know. but the test isnt until february and i wont get scores for a few weeks after which would be just before the next decision date. do they reserve scholarship money for the next decision date to offer? and if so could i be considered for it?

You can try. The worst that would happen is nothing.
