scholarships and loans

I applied to MSU about 7 weeks ago. I have an average GPA of about 3.3, and my grades have been on an upward curve. I really want to go to MSU, and if I get in, I would hate to turn them down because I couldnt find funding. Because of my GPA, I dont plan on getting any scholarships this year.
I'm considering taking out loans for room/board and tuition for the first year. Do you think if I did really well the first two semesters, I could find scholarships to cover my tuition for my second year? I really have my heart set on going to MSU, and I know it's going to be a strech.
I'm currently dual enrolled at a community college. I would go there for two years then transfer to MSU, but they don't have enough biology classes for me to take. The other colleges I'm considering are ferris and cmu, but I would still have to take out loans to go to those colleges.
I've been trying to get a job to save up for college...but this is michigan- I think that's enough of an explanation. lol.

So..
1. Is it going to be hard to get scholarships as a sophomore?
2. Are student loans worth it- especially when one year at MSU is about $19000?
3. Is it going to be hard getting a job on campus?

MSU is about 22k a year for an average freshmen. Have you done a practice FAFSA yet and figured out what your EFC roughly is? What is your parent’s income? Have you applied for outside scholarships?

It’s not difficult to find a job on campus, but no job is going to earn you more than 4k a year at the ABSOLUTE max.

Every student who fills out a FAFSA is eligible for a Stafford loan of $5500 but outside of that it’s going to be up to private loans. If you work really hard, you might be able to get into the honors college after a semester and get scholarships that way.

My son is now a junior. He got scholarships in high school for freshman year but had no luck getting scholarships for his sophomore year. When kids apply for their majors as sophomores then they can sometimes get scholarships towards their junior year. I think the sophomore year is the hardest to cover with scholarships. Try for a lot of high school scholarships anyway because not all of them are for kids with top grades. Find something that makes you stand out.

Also, I don’t think it is hard to get a job on campus. They need a lot of people working in the cafeterias, there are jobs working with science stuff, all sorts of things.
