Scholarships based on need for UC?

<p>I'm planning on attending UCSD in fall of 14 and I want to know all the options available out there. What are good sources especially for scholarships not based on merit but based on need? Please, if you know anything else, post here. So far, all I know for scholarship resources is:</p>

<ol>
<li><p>Apply Fafsa beginning of the year and in the spring when they accept you they will give a list of scholarships </p></li>
<li><p>Community college scholarships but I'm not sure if these are transferrable to a 4 year university</p></li>
<li><p>Scholarships made especially for students in Phi Theta Kappa</p></li>
</ol>

<p>Are you instate or out of state?</p>

<p><a href=“https://students.ucsd.edu/finances/financial-aid/forms/calculator.html[/url]”>https://students.ucsd.edu/finances/financial-aid/forms/calculator.html&lt;/a&gt; (when they update it) will give you a need-based financial aid estimate for UCSD.</p>

<p>If it isn’t working, you can try the other UCs’ net price calculators, since they seem to have similar need-based financial aid.</p>

<p>Are you eligible for the Calgrant? My understanding is that for instate students the Calgrant is where most need based aid is from in CA. Your family income would need to be under $80,000 a year, I believe.</p>
