I got a trustee scholarship for 13k for both Pharmacy and NB SAS … I’m upset … I have a 2340 sat and a 4.9 gpa and I’m instate…
@coldsummer123. My son is a freshman at RU with a presidential scholarship. The presidential is a dollar amount - I think $25,500/year. For him (in state) that, plus his National Merit scholarship cover nearly every penny, but for out of state residents, it won’t quite cover tuition/ fees plus you will have to pay room and board.
Oops. Dollar amount this year is 25,600. It looks like they are awarding a few hundred dollars more to current applicants. I am guessing my son’s award will go up to the new amount for presidential scholars next school year. BTW different housing has different cost. The honors college housing is one of the most expensive.
Did anyone get Presidential Scholarship so far or will those be announced later?
@dudefromnowhere yes I know of a few people who received the presidential scholarship
If I received a scholarship to engineering and ended up going there, could I have a minor/double major in another school at Rutgers and still keep my scholarship since I’d technically still be in engineering?
^^(since they say that you lose your scholarship if you switch schools within Rutgers)
^also wondering this
I think maybe you get offered different scholarships for each campus but I’m not sure. I just added Newark to my application yesterday for sports reasons so I’ll find out soon if the scholarship is more than NB I guess.
I got into both SAS and Pharmacy NB, but only got a merit scholarship (Trustee, 13k/year) for SAS. If I go to Rutgers, I would probably enroll in Pharmacy, so I was hoping for money there. Confused as to why I didn’t get any merit scholarship for Pharmacy? (2370 SAT but lowish GPA, around 4.1, rigorous courseload). Did this happen to anyone else? Or did anyone else only get merit scholarship for one of the schools they applied to?
From what I can see it looks like each major and campus has its own degree of difficulty for enrollment so the scholarships reflect that.
I got the Trustee scholarship to the School of Arts and Sciences (NB) ($16,000) and the Henry Rutgers Scholarship and Trustee Award for the NB Rutgers school of business ($19,000).
Quick question: Does anyone know how good these scholarships are? Is it worth paying out of state tuition for the rest or should I just go in state to Barrett ASU? Also, would it count against me or be hard for me to take my pre med requirements if I attended the business school?
Do they post the scholarships on the same day as you are accepted? I was accepted into SAS yesterday but the scholarship website says “No aid or scholarship/honors information is available for your record”. Should I assume I’m not entitled to any scholarship?
Thanks
@ThaliO Go to this link, https://studentaid.rutgers.edu/scholarship/ and enter in your info. It should also be in your portal where you found out which schools you got accepted to.
@ThaliO oh and also it took like 3 weeks after my acceptance to see anything on the scholarship screen so I would just be wait and keep checking
@ThaliO the scholarship info wasn’t received by me until the following week in the mail and online eve later
Do you have to accept the offer first? I’m not planning to accept SAS unless I receive some sort of scholarship.
Thanks
@ThaliO I haven’t accepted my offer yet and I recieved it. You don’t need to accept it to see:)
