My child applied Early Action and was accepted in December, with no merit scholarship. However, last week we received a letter awarding a $54,400 merit scholarship ($13,600 annually). We do not qualify for financial aid and did not apply for financial aid, but in order to receive the merit scholarship we had to complete the FAFSA, which was submitted two days ago. I spoke with someone in the financial aid office and was told that the information on the FAFSA could possibly lead to an increase in the level of the scholarship, but it would not result in a decrease in the amount already awarded. I am certain that we will not receive any additional scholarship $, as our EFC is 100%!

$13,900 a year!

Just recieved today Fordham updated gift aid which supercedes the Personalized Packet sent a couple months back. I can confirm that they offered $10k more than the original offer of $18.5k/yr. We are very pleased.

Just to clarify, is that personalized info packet a final financial aid offer? I didn’t think it was, but my dad is telling me that that’s pretty much what I’ll get. I know a lot of people here have recently received notification about scholarships and grant money, so I’m just a little confused and nervous. Fordham is my top choice but I definitely need more money to convince my parents to let me go there.

Received my gift aid letter yesterday and it was $5000 more per year then the personalized report I received earlier last month. The personalized report was just an estimate. Good luck

Wow we haven’t gotten a denial or acceptance yet…It sounds like aid packets are have been sent to some.

Are all of you early action?

I was early action. Attended admitted student day today and met with financial aid folks who said “official” aid packages will go out around April 1st. Good luck
