I was just wondering if anyone knew when we would be notified for scholarships or if they already began notifying people about their scholarships? Thanks in advance!
Scholarship notification usually starts in December.
Were you already notified?
I am also wondering when we will be notified about scholarships. I know several people who also haven’t received anything yet.
Notifications actually begin this month. Only people who qualify for then will be notified. But between march and now is when they will start sending out scholarships.
I know people who were notified in late December, so it definitely has already started. Just because you haven’t been notified yet doesn’t mean you won’t be receiving one though. It’s still early.

You are a very helpful longtime poster on Rutgers threads……are the notifications you mention from this year’s application cycle or based on people you know who got them in the past? I know there are many anxious people waiting to hear…thanks.
Based on past CC posts, it seems like three years ago notifications first came out in late December, two years ago they came out on 1/3 and last year they came out on 1/8.
None of the applicants I know for this year have heard anything yet.
I know two people who were offered Presidential Scholarships for this application cycle just before Christmas. The bulk of offers probably have not come out yet, but there are at least a few who have received or will be receiving offers very soon. In the past, it has been very strange regarding who received offers earlier, to my knowledge. I know students who had seemingly lower stats who received notification earlier than those who were like almost perfect SATs, high GPA, etc. Regardless, I would be checking my email daily.
@Rhetorical13 : Have you heard if all the invitations to the new Honors College, opening Fall 2015, have gone out?
Definitely not. Different schools start doing honors notification at different times. SOE for example doesn’t start doing it until like early March. They invite certain people to complete an essay to apply, if they meet admissions criteria. SAS admits people into honors without a separate application and those should come out sooner.
@rhetorical13: Hmmm, I not sure this is the same. I am inquiring about the new residential, multi-disciplinary honors college opening in Fall of 2015, exclusively for freshman. Perhaps Rutgers has broken ground on the College Ave building for new dorms? Only the top 1% of applicants will be invited and there is no additional application to complete. Are you familiar with this?
The website says mid-January for the Honors College.
@veggylover Sorry about that. Yeah that dorm will be open for the fall, but I don’t know about the process for it. I’m personally not a fan of it, so I haven’t been keeping up with it.
Just want to say Rutgers is losing the interest of lots of people who already have great merit offers from other EA schools by now. My first and second kids (HS '11, '13) heard in Dec about same time as acceptances.
This wait IS getting ridiculous! Hopefully good things come to those who wait. I am especially interested in merit information.
@veggylover hopefully it comes out soon!
I was told honors college would come out this week
@colleger799 I hope so!
I only received the Scarlet Scholarship for all 3 of my schools SOE, SAS, and SEBS
I was hoping for something higher
