Scholarships

If they don’t get enough applicants to accept their invitation for the honors college, will they consider those student that are in the Honors program? Are my stats too low? I have a 2230 on the SAT and for the SAT2 subject tests, I have a 760 in Math 2, and 710 in Chemistry.

@twostarssky‌ theyve already started to invite people from the honors program, as youll see from some of the people in this thread. And from what ive seen your SATS aren’t too low but they do take your whole application into consideration.

@Aly310, Thanks. I did some more research and it does look like they are still sending invitations so I may still have a chance. Also, if they don’t get enough applicants who want to go, they will start looking at some of the students in the honors program.

@Shunken I sent an email about the scholarships and an Honors College Rep said that I was supposed to receive my honors college invite before the scholarships email so the scholarships I’ve already received are the ones being referenced in the letter. Good to know.

@yebhip did you email admissions or the honors college?

@Aly310 I emailed honorscollege@rutgers.edu .

Alright thanks @yebhip‌

@yebhip Thanks for clearing that up!

My kid didn’t get any info about scholarship yet. 6 year PharmD-accepted, not admit yet. SAT 2260 9 AP with GPA 4.0. Do you think she will still have a chance to get some? Any advice will be appreciated…

That program may not offer any scholarships

@lemonwater2013‌ I’m sure that your kid will at least get $10,000. My sister went into PharmD last year with the same stats but lower SAT and got the Carr Scholarship. SOE and Ernest Mario (even though they are the most expensive schools) don’t offer the top tier scholarships such as presidential and trustee. Good luck! I’m waiting for a SOE scholarship myself.

SOE does offer presidentials.

@foolish Yeah, you’re right. They just don’t offer trustee.

Thank you! we will wait one more week…if we don’t hear anything within one week, I guess we should contact school…

I’m in the same boat. Accepted to Ernest Mario, zero scholarships offered. I won’t be able to attend if I don’t get anything. I guess that’ll make someone on the waitlist happy, though.

I got invited to Honors College by both SAS and SOE but only received Carr scholarship (10K). I already fall in love with the College but with this amount of scholarship I wouldn’t be able to attend…
Anybody in the same situation? Most people who got into the College as I’ve seen so far got either the Trustee or Presidential…

I have a question about the scholarships and I just want to make sure my understanding is correct based on the RU website. Other than the Presidential scholarship, it looks like the other scholarships require you to also have a financial need. If you don’t qualify for FA, (and you don’t get the Presidential), then you can only get loans. Am I understanding this correctly?

@twostarssky I believe most of the incoming student scholarships are merit only, you don’t need to file the fafsa to be considered for those

@twostarssky‌ only the scarlet scholarship has a Need based component. Everything else is merit so it’s possible to get FA and a merit scholarship. But if you don’t qualify for FA then yeah loans is pretty much all you get if not offered a merit scholarship
