I got my financial aid package last week and in the mail I got my finanical aid letter yesterday. Grants, loans, "awards", the whole works.

did the online Ca$h site tell you exactly what the letter told you? or was there awards that were not on the Ca$h website?

The Cash site is exactly the same.

ok so I still got nothin' lol

Aside from the loans?

nothin' on there at all

What's the holdup with your FAFSA? If it's coming along and you have a low EFC, then you should be okay. UT's unbelievable slow this year for us incoming freshman.

they took awhile to make the package up, it was still considered "pending". But then i was an idiot and changed my Fafsa with up-to-date info right in the middle of the time where they were giving aid, so now my file has a BAR.

Have you contacted UT about your bar? Haha that doesn't sound good. You have 6-7 days left. It's better to find out what they're offering before you commit to Ohio State or you might regret the decision later. After all they can't possibly give you nothing right? It will just be after the May 1st decision date.

yea, i called they said it was mostly loans and small grants

Well i guess it comes down to whether you want to pay money to go to the school you want to or not. You said you wanted to go to UT more right? That's the same situation I'm in. Take the money or go to UT. I'm leaning towards the latter because I think I would regret it later on. But this is your decision and I think you should do what you think is right for you.

I just got an email today that says they updated my EFAN. They added a $2500 scholarship to the package. Doing this they also reduced the parent loan thankfully instead of the B-On Time Load. So there is still hope of them awarding scholarships. It was a Roger Q. Mill scholarship. Hopefully i'll get something in the mail telling me if its good for four years or not.

Well do scholarships take away from grant aid??? Or can they put to use towards loans and work study??

:( :( :( :( :(

Are you okay, hookem???

hmm, I checked today with them. They're giving me a waiver of out-of-state tuition. I'm thinking about and I think I will go to UT-Austin.

Haha that's great news! Unfortunately for me, my thing didn't turn out so well. It was pretty insignificant.

The first thing extra money took away from for me was parent loan which is what i wanted.

Scholarships . . sniff sniff
