I would love to go to BU but would need a substantial scholarship and I’m wondering my chances of getting money

It would be really helpful if anyone who has already received a merit scholarship would post the amount they received along with their stats (gpa, SAT/ACT, classes…etc)

This would be sooo helpful thanks!

For need-based scholarships, I just posted a helpful link. I’m not sure if you qualify, but if you do:
[Boston University - Office of Financial Assistance - Applying for Financial Aid](http://www.bu.edu/finaid/apply/incoming_probability.html)

For merit, it’s based on a bunch of criteria. If you applied for a specific scholarship, then your chances depend on the applicant pool. If you want a general scholarship, you’d probably just get grant money (which more or less equals a scholarship but with less guarantee & GPA requirements) which is partially academically based as well. If not, then your chances on receiving a scholarship really depend your application holistically. Comparing yourself to any of us is kind of unhelpful really, because not only were we in a different applicant pool, everything about the app & financial situations can’t be the same.

Good luck!

Anyone know the general criteria for the Presidential Scholarship in the School of Education (or can divulge the stats of someone they know who got it)? How big a factor is the essay/recommendations or is it mainly based on academics?
