Scholarships!

While my DD and I are anxiously awaiting an envelope from Pitt, I thought I'd survey the CC crowd. What level of scholarship are you hoping for? We think that full tuition would be awesome!

Full tuition is awesome.

FWIW DS’s scholarship letter came about 10 days after his acceotance letter.

D2 is still working on the application but it’s getting close! It will likely take full OOS tuition to make Pitt a viable financial option for her.

When I saw the thread topic, I thought this was going to be about the first notifications of scholarships this year.

This topic brings back so many memories of a year ago. D received a full tuition scholarship and was notified the end of October. She thought it was “nice”, but since she was “never going to go there”, she didn’t participate in the celebration her mom and dad had.

She is now a VERY HAPPY STUDENT at Pitt, and it is clear that this is the school she was meant to attend.

Everyone, please post when you receive word that you have received scholarship money. It will be a pleasure to celebrate with the 2015 students.

When are you all applying in order to get these scholarship notifications so early? haha I guess a better question would be when is the deadline to submit your application for scholarship consideration. Also… may I ask what your stats were for the full scholarships? Thanks

I would apply as early as possible for scholarship consideration. DS had a 35 ACT, 4.5+ GPA (can’t remember exactly) – this was a couple of years ago.

DD received a nice e-mail from admissions today congratulating her on her nice essay. We thought that was a nice touch. They also stated that she should receive her application decision soon. I’m not sure that any scholarship notifications have actually been released yet for this admission cycle. DD has a 34 ACT and 4.0 GPA so we are hopeful for a full tuition scholarship.
