@fitzgirl22 It says the 14th on my portal, so I would check yours to see if the date is the same!
@sophiedoo62 Yes, it does say the 14th for me too. But do you know if they will also send some email alerting us about the national awards? Have you received something like that?
@fitzgirl22 I haven’t received anything, but I will let you know if I do!
Is anyone applying for a summer scholarship?
@fitzgirl22 I just received an email from Scholastic pertaining to the national awards. It said that the national awards recipients will be announced at 12pm ET on the 14th. To find out if you received an award, all you have to do is login to your account at that time.
Is everyone who won a gold key supposed to be getting an email? Because I haven’t gotten it yet. Also has anyone else’s pins and certificates come in the mail yet?
@isaf33 I didn’t get an email either, and I also haven’t gotten my pins/certificates yet…
I did get an email as it turns out, but I’m not sure about the keys/certificates: I haven’t gotten mine yet, but I’m sure that just depends on your region. Some regions are larger than others.
@fitzgirl22 When did you get the email, maybe they are still going through the list?
Last Friday, around noon. It was just a friendly reminder to check back on Monday for national announcements–not really anything big. But I’m sure that’s the case–they really do have a lot of emails to send!
What categories did you guys submit in? I entered for short story.
Writing Portfolio
Does anyone know if when you sign in tomorrow exactly where it will say whether you won or not? It is right next to the name of the submission or…? I’m only asking because I wouldn’t know so I’m trying to confirm
Also, I entered in the Novel Writing Category and I was told that the winners of that were announced at the same time the national awards were announced and it was that same way last year - so is that 100% true or not? I’m really freaking out because someone said the results would be in late April and I don’t know what to believe.
Plus, does anyone even know the likelihood of winning in the Novel Writing Category? I literally only counted maybe a little over ten people who won in that category last year…
@lashanna1 I think there’s about a 5-10 percent chance of winning in every category, so the raw number of winners depends on the number of people in your category who won gold keys in the first place. On the Scholastic website, it says that novel writing will be announced in mid-April because it takes longer to read the submissions. However, if last year they announced the novel writing winners on the same day they did the other winners, I’m not sure why it would be different this year. I think you should just assume the results will be announced in April unless you receive different information tomorrow.
@lashanna1 Last year they just posted a big list with all the winners, so you could do ctrl-f and search for your name.
Hey guys, I got 9 awards - 4 gold keys, 4 honorable mentions, and 1 gold portfolio. I haven’t gotten my certificates yet though, and I also haven’t gotten any emails about the national awards! :^(( I’m a bit worried now.
Awards are up, I didn’t get anything, but I figured since I didn’t get the email.
they used to post a pdf file with all winners listed. Anybody found this file yet? Could you please post the link here?
thanks
Where did you guys find out the results?
