@FlameAlchemist Don’t worry dude I feel you! I submitted my SAS Application a week ago so I can get started early, take my time on it, and finish before finals. It states that the results for the scholarship come out April 18th so Stay tuned xD
And yeah sure I’ll PM you! If you’re wondering I only submitted one short story like I already said, but that was because I had such a tight and busy schedule and I’d gone so over the word count (+12,00) that I used ALL my time on it cutting it down, revising it and making it better. Ugh it was awful but the end result was good, better than I thought considering that I expected a lot less of my story. ANYWWAYYSSS it was basically about favoritism except in reverse. In stories and movies I’ve seen I noticed that favoritism is always in the least favored child’s perspective and if it isn’t the favored child is a jerk or is really apathetic. So I switched it up by writing in the narrative of the favored child (Alias) talking about favoritism and how it affects his younger brother (Luther) and what he does about. In the end though the it actually turns out to be a Eulogy rather than a S.S.
HA I know a lot to take in
One more week! Wish they didn’t make everyone wait so long for the results!
@Samsmom2019 Me too! Still counting! 6 more days everyone!!!
While keeping time has anyone else been reading their work(s) in absolute anxiety to a point where they’re completely sick of it/them? raises hand Because I have.
@Lunarlitgend Same, dude. I’ve found sooo many spelling and grammatical mistakes in my stories! I’m so unhappy about not being able to do anything about them!
Six days and counting left
@FlameAlchemist OMG SAME! In fact, I just read over my ENTIRE SAS Application and found like 3-4 typos and I am ABSOLUTELY outraged! After reading them out loud more than 3 times and rereading them ON PAPER more than 5 times, this is what I discover! I even have a large uneven spacing from an indent gone wrong! I am just UGHHH. Well, now we all know who’s NOT gonna get that scholarship! This gal!
@FlameAlchemist Speaking of which, did you see the feedback I left about your stories?
@Lunarlitgend Yeah–I just posted a response. You might not have gotten it, though–my computer is really wonky, so it always messes up my emails and whatnot, and it’s really slow online. Sorry about that!

@FlameAlchemist LOL it’s okay! XD
Just submitted my SAS application!! Does anyone know anything about how many scholarships are awarded or how selective it is?
@dreamthief001 Nope afraid not, but I do know the results come out April 18th so stay tuned for that
5 more days left guys! So close!
My application went completely blank after I submitted it. Has this happened to anyone? I typed for the two prompts and saved it but when it got submitted it showed it as blank. What do I do?
@geometry1761 I think it may be because you may have went past the Character limit. That’s happened to me before until I cut it short. If that’s not why then email your affiliate about it
Did any of you guys enter any other writing contests this year?
@dreamthief001 Not so far no, but I will soon! There’s a local writing contest going on in my community and I plan on entering.
I’m not entering any writing competitions until Youngarts opens up again, but I’m focusing on getting published and on my upcoming book. I just got published in my first legit poetry journal yesterday!
congratulations!! there is honestly nothing better than a publication acceptance (except maybe a college one but I wouldn’t know yet :)) )
as a senior, i can verify that college acceptances are equally as exciting as publication acceptances
also oh yeah, i’m trying to work on self-publishing because why not haha!
