Son will be applying for an Army ROTC scholarship and will be listing WFU as his #1 ROTC choice. (We've heard from a couple sources that there's no harm in telling the school it's the ROTC favorite.)

He would use the Common App's "Additional Information" section to tell Wake it's #1. But, if he does that, won't all his other Common App schools read it? Or is there a way to set it up so only Wake "knows" it's the ROTC favorite?

Thanks.

There are other ways to share this information with the college without tinkering with the app. Most effective would be to establish a contact in the admission office, perhaps someone he meets at a campus visit, or a rep who visits his high school, or even the admission rep for his state. His guidance counselor might be able to offer some direction on this. Then, as the time to apply draws closer, your son can send an email directly to that person share his preferences. Whatever contact he has–especially about his level of interest–will get recorded in his file.
