School choice for future law student?

Hello, I am a senior currently in the college choice process and I was just looking for any friendly advice that could point me the right way. The schools that I am looking at are DePaul U, Saint Louis U, Loyola-Chicago, Drake U, and Bradley U. I have narrowed it down to between Drake and Saint Louis, as of right now but that could always change. My question is which of these schools is best accredited for preparing students for law school and giving them the tools they need to do well to prepare for that path (for example preparing for the LSAT tests). Any opinions/personal experiences would be greatly appreciated and I am really looking for sound advice! (P.S. Sorry if this was the wrong place to post this)
Kind regards!

Good prep for the LSAT to the extent that college courses matter depends on your course/major choices. Good reading and writing skills are obviously important, but there is also a logic section that people seem to ignore (but may be why math and philosophy majors do well).

But also consider cost (save money and avoid debt before expensive law school), how much grade inflation each school has, and whether each school has any general education categories that you may have difficulty getting good grades in.

Jesuit colleges like SLU & Loyola usually do a good job of requiring that their students study philosophy and write plenty of papers…developing an awareness of logic & ethics, & learning to write precisely.
Good preparation for law school.

I second the recommendation that cost of undergrad be one of the primary factors. Student loan debt is a huge problem for law students and lawyers. The job market has improved a bit in the past few years, but many lawyers still struggle to pay back their loans.

Thank you for taking the time to reply! I am planning on majoring in economics, so I am hoping that gives me a well rounded approach for future career options. Money is definitely also a top decider for school choice as well but they are all relatively the same price from what I have gotten in scholarships. (The exception being Bradley is a little cheaper but not really one of my so per say “favorite” schools)

Just to clarify moooop, you would recommend SLU/ Loyola as good preps? If you have any personal experience with those schools I would love to hear about that as well! Thank you for your time!

I went to a Jesuit college, and have friends who went to several others, including Marquette, Fordham, Xavier, Loyola-Chicago & SLU. All of us had similar experiences…lots of reading, writing, thinking, & philosophy…wonderful preparation for the LSAT & law school.

Yes, I would say both SLU & Loyola would be equally great choices for you. Visit both & see which you prefer. Good luck!

You may want to read the pages at http://lawschoolnumbers.com/application-prep/ugraduate for undergraduate preparation. The site also has some information on GPA and LSAT scores of admitted and rejected applicants to various law schools.

https://www.lstreports.com/schools/ has information about employment outcomes from various law schools. Law school ranking tends to be highly important in law employment, and law school ranking is strongly related to admission selectivity by GPA and LSAT scores.

Thank you everyone for the helpful advice and information, also thank you for those website links!
