School is limiting how many schools to apply to. Just trying to figure out which of the following schools would be better for son to apply to. He wants to do either computer engineering or computer science. I have seen their rankings but looking for some other opinions. The difference in number of computer science faculty members, for instance, in the various departments is amazing.

He has first choices. How would you consider Santa Clara University, University of Arizona, University of British Columbia,Oregon State University, Harvey Mudd, USC,University of Colorado, Case Western.
Thank you for your opinion.

I don’t know about Santa Clara but the others all have fine programs.

What state? (CU is pricey for OOS). Chasing need based FA (Financial Aid) or merit scholarships?

California resident so will probably try for a uc or cal poly first.

You just never know about the uc s. Their new thing is to take out of staters to make more money

We hear that Colorado also likes to OOS students for the extra finances. Looking online, it appears there is limited opportunity for scholarship [Scholarships and Funding | Undergraduate Admissions | CU-Boulder](http://www.colorado.edu/admissions/undergraduate/finances/scholarships)
