School doesn't rank=problem?

So my school does not formally rank, so they do not send out rankings with transcripts, but on my app status page for A&M it says that a document stating class rank is required. Should I talk to my counselor about sending one in, because I know that he has all of the GPAs for my class, but they go unreported for the most part. Or should I contact A&M and tell them that my school doesn't rank? Answers would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I’m almost 90% sure all schools rank in one way or another. Otherwise, how could they pick a valedictorian and saludictorian? If not by numbers by “quartiles” or “deciles.” Most of the time when counselors send in a recommendation there is an option for “If your school does not rank please approximate _______” Talk to your counselor about it… my guess is that they do an approximation system and that info was sent in your recommendation/transcript.

My son’s school doesn’t rank, and A&M asked for his GPA officially reported on his high school transcript and a copy of the school’s profile instead. I believe they have a formula based on the information from those items to estimate a class rank.
