They are all good schools. I hope you can visit them before you decide.
I'd really pay close attention to Chapman. It is really considered top notch, though you may get what you want at the others as well.

I've been away (St. Louis and Florida) for the last couple of weeks and was only able to read and post to cc sporadically. Talk about withdrawal pains! I missed hearing many of your news on time, but I felt vicarious disappointment and joy along with many and I'm really hoping Timely's S and Chinaski (and I'm sure I'm forgetting so many) will find their schools are fabulous in every way. Selfishly, I'm sorry we won't all still be posting on the USC forums through the next four years--you've been so thoughtful and caring. Hope you keep posting on cc in the coming years so we can cheer on each other's accomplishments.

You have all been so kind to share these crazy months of college applications and help form a community.

Hey guys, i’m glad i found this thread…
I’m looking to apply for production at SCA. I’ve heard and seen tons of stories of people who get accepted without ANY experience in film. I have no experience in film but it stands alone as the one and only thing I can see myself doing happily for the rest of my life, which is the most important thing for me when I consider careers. My problem is that I have no experience in film either because of a lack of resources (gonna need tons of financial aid…). I am currently working on my application, spending a lot of time writing scripts for the first time, actually telling a story with a video (I have a good amount of experience in video editing, but not so much in telling an actual story), and revising application essays over and over again.

If I had to describe my essay in 3 words, they would be: poetic, personal and profound. Must the essay be direct, telling a chapter of my life and how it made me a better person? I don’t know of anyone else who has taken a more metaphoric approach to the SCA application (though I do know of a very poetic essay accepted by Harvard).

Also, my visual sample is going to be in Spanish and in Costa Rica, where I’m from and where I live. Do you think that’s something the SCA will like about my application?
