School of Computing - Reputation?

My son has been accepted to Clemson - OOS w/o the waiver - He is interested in Computer Science. The School of Computing doesn't seem to carry the same high ranking as other traditional engineering programs at Clemson.

Went through the Clemson site and found out that the School of Computing was just elevated from department status in 2007 and averages only 50 new students annually. Son loves the campus , but is this a wise investment? Other option is in-state second-tier college in Georgia with potential transfer to Tech or UGA

As I said in the other thread, the people I know in CS enjoy the program. One of them decided to go to graduate school next year, but had a few offers from companies across the US. If your son likes Clemson the most, I would strongly consider it. IMO, being happy at college is a lot better than being somewhere you don’t like for the prestige (and will probably lead to better grades, more school participation, etc). Have you had a chance to talk to someone in the CS department to ask them about job placement, internships, etc?
