School of Foreign Service or Georgetown College?

I am interested in journalism/politics/writing/international stuff. Should I apply to the Georgetown School of Foreign Service or Georgetown College (and major in politics)? What are the differences between the two (does one have better connections to industry, better financial aid, etc.? What is it like to go to either schools? Do they share a campus/courses?)

they are on the georgetown university campus. you can take classes in both the college and the school of foreign service. just based on my gut check, i'd major in journalism and get a certificate (equivalent to a minor) in international politics.

Georgetown doesn't have a journalism major.

my dad went to SFS, and is trying to convince me to apply there even though i know the college is a better fit

having said that, if your strongest interest is international politics, definitely apply to SFS.
if it's more writing, apply to the college.

i know SFS also has "certificate programs" which you can do in addition to your major...there's one on social and political thought, if that interests you.

also, since the college doesn't have a journalism major, it might be best to apply to SFS where you can get the great international relations/politics education, and then just take any writing/journalism courses that you want to since you can take the college's classes

i'm a student at the sfs...i would advise doing the college. you can get more of your writing/journalism there, there is a government major for your politics side, and the sfs has LOTS of requirements that will all be in the international affairs field.

so, the college has a lot more flexability... what would be the advantage to going to SFS?
