Hi everyone...I'm new here so apologize if I don't follow all the proper protocol yet. i am about to begin my Georgetown application (applying RD), and have to make a decision between SFS and Georgetown College. I have a 4.0 GPA, great ECs including research, and experience in journalism. If I want to study international politics and want to become a journalist, to which should I apply? What are hte pros/cons of each? How difficult is admission to each? How easy to double major? Etc. Thanks!

Unfortunately, you can’t double major between the College and the SFS, though lots of people double major within the College (i.e. Economics and History). International Politics is a major in SFS, within which you can choose a specialty – security, foreign policy, and so on. Admission is relatively similar, percentage wise, at both. There aren’t any up-front pros and cons, just that each place meets the needs of each individual based on personal preferences. If you want a broad, liberal arts core curriculum, look into the College; the SFS core is specialized, and there are no required math or science courses (SFS=Saved From Science, haha).
