Hey guys, just out of curiousity, if you applied to the Walsh SFS, what did you write in response to the essay question that prompted you to "discuss a current global issue," "why you consider it important, and what you suggest should be done to deal with it"?

I wrote mine on the conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Not a stunningly brilliant essay quite yet, but I have yet to mail it in so I'm sure it'll go through another revision or two before the January 10th RD deadline.

I wrote it on the ramifications of US ratification of the Kyoto Protocol. You are very brave to write about such a controversial issue that everyone knows about.

Yeah, I agree amybronte. I specifically avoided "huge" issues like that one and instead focused on a more obscure issue, which was the land distribution problems in Zimbabwe and how the corrupt elections are the cause of this (which in turn, is the main cause of Zimbabwes 's many problems).

you are brave. that's a huge concept to tackle- do you have any personal experiences with it? that would make a really interesting essay, I think. Especially if you take a unique perspective on it.
