Can anyone comment on the BU School of Management? I applied to that school and plan to go into International Management, so I was wondering what people thought of the program. How are the professors? How are classes? How are the facilties? Any other comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you search through some of my past posts, I've commented a lot on what I think of SMG.

hey trunks87,
I applied to SMG for Intl. Management too. BU's my first choice. The building is AWESOME. It looks like a corporation. I've heard about the classes from current students and they've told that junior year is the hardest since they have to do the CORE project.

I just want to put out there that the SMG Building has a Starbucks and a Breadwinners in it and houses my favorite library on campus. All very positive things in my book. I can't comment on the academics (since I'm in COM), but I know its a very challenging and well thought of school. On campus, its known as one of the toughest schools at BU.

If you have any specific questions, I'd be glad to answer them, but I'd like to add that I'm really glad I went here and I feel very well-prepared to handle my new job (I start in August 2006) as a result of the program at SMG.

It's weird to think that it'll be all over in a few months...

ryanbis, what is your new job?

and how much are they going to pay you? on the same note...How does BU's SMG rank in prestige with other business programs? how do the employers view the school?(i want to go into finance/banking)what's the average salary?...and this next question should be asked elsewhere, but anyway: can you get any college loans at BU if u r an international student?

"By the end of the freshman year, School of Management students have gained more knowledge, skills, and management perspective than is normally expected of juniors at many other schools of management."

"ryanbis, what is your new job?"

I'll be an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers

"and how much are they going to pay you?"

That's a rather personal question. It's market value for an entry-level public accountant in Boston, which is pretty good.

Ryanbis, good luck to you. Are you going to work in the Boston area?

Yes. Thank you.

ryanbis...I am sorry for the other question. I did not mean to be indiscreet. I was just curious to see if BU(SMG) graduates earn as much as NYU(Stern) grads for instance. Anyway, congratulations for the job.

The new SMG building is awesome. With all the art and little group work/study cubbies....make sure you go inside when you visit campus.
Congrats to Ry---thats a top notch financial firm and very competetive. Best of luck and many thanks for you wise words of wisdom for the up and coming Terriers.
