I added two schools to my FAFSA last week, it was processed yesterday and the schools were listed in the form. Today I received an email saying a ‘college’ has made a correction and it has apparently removed those schools I added. Whatdoes this mean? thanks
If your correction (adding two schools) was processed, then all the schools you intended to receive the FAFSA have received it - so that should not be a concern.
If a school made a correction that you don’t understand, you should contact that schools financial office to get an explanation.
@WhataProcess thanks, but the only correction I can find is that those same two schools I added are not in the list anymore. So…?
Also any way of checking who made the correction? It only says ‘college’
Schools are not able to see other schools on your FAFSA, nor are they able to remove them. I do not process updates directly on the federal processor’s site, but schools are able to do that … my guess is that you school made a direct update and only the information on your FAFSA only changed for that school (not for the other two). If you look at the change(s), you can see what they did … actually, maybe not … sometimes a change is made, the aid officer realizes it was done in error, and then they switch it back. In that case, you won’t see any change. Did your EFC change? If not, no worries.
If you filed the FAFSA once, that is transaction #1. The 3 schools all received #1. If school #2 made a change & that change only went to school #2, schools 1 and 3 still are using #1. School #2 is now using the new transaction #2.
