School Silence Period?

<p>I have seen references to a period of contact, limited communications for school faculty, coaches, music directors from application deadline to notification. Has anyone had experience with this or knows about it? </p>

<p>We have noticed it somewhat - a lot of communication in the late fall then short or less contact in the last 8 weeks other than short email responses ' let's hope for good news from the admissions office' etc. It has been inconsistent between schools (but consistent with schools - e.g several folks seem to be using a common template/ language - instructed from admissions office?)</p>

<p>Don't worry this has not been a case of us barraging them with info. In many cases it was following up on things they asked about during our visit, or wanted to know more about some events in our region. </p>

<p>Have others seen? Know about?</p>

<p>Google “TSAO” (Ten Schools Admission Organization) and read the “letter to parents.” Those 10 schools have an agreement not to recruit or signal admissions decisions between application deadline and March 10th, and agree to let their applicants all know the decisions on the same day. Some other schools follow this idea to a greater or lesser extent. That might be what you’re observing. That silence TOTALLY does not indicate a lack of interest.</p>
