.25 for AP
0 for honors

I really don't know how my school works. Our adv./AP scale is out of 5.4, the honors is 4.6, and the standard is 4.05...SO weird...

+0 Honors +.5 for AP. Suck it up. Complaining will not help. That's why colleges look at UW GPA too.

I basically ignore the weighted GPA system. It's stupid. I never add the weight when I'm calculating.

Make good grades, period. That's why the colleges get your transcript--so they can see how hard your classes were.

+1 honors +1 AP

Just take the AP's you actually want to take. Weighting or no, colleges will still see which level of classes you take. Don't overstretch yourself because it won't benefit your GPA, but don't just s.crew it.

What's really annoying is when schools (like mine) use weighted GPA to calculate class rank, thus punishing students who take extra classes like music and journalism which are never weighted. Because of this, a kid taking 5 AP courses and orchestra has a lower GPA and lower class rank than a kid taking 5 AP courses and a study hall. It doesn't seem fair.

Same here. I'm first right now, but I might lose it if my "Advisory" (homeroom) teacher gives me an A instead of a pass, which is what we're supposed to get. I'm also not rewarded for being ahead in math, as my middle school Algebra 1 and Geometry classes are also on my transcript. I know a few people who are screwed in terms of class rank because they got a D in middle school Korean.
