Schools like Dartmouth

I absolutely love Dartmouth and I'm applying ED, but I know that the chances for a non-athlete, non-legacy, or non-super-genius are slim. I really like the D-Plan, the study abroad opportunities, the interaction with professors at Dartmouth. Also, the one thing I've notices about Dartmouth students is that they have an insane amount of love for their school. I'd really love to go somewhere like that. Any suggestions?

Have a look at Colgate, Middlebury and Bowdoin. Also in Pennsylvania, Lehigh and Bucknell.

Carleton, Pomona, Claremont Mckenna, Williams are some great LAC’s,that appeal to kids who like D, though no one else has the D plan that I know of.

i really have to second all of the suggestions above.

Trinity in CT is another backup for many who like Dartmouth.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I’ll definitely look into them. =)

While just as competitive, don’t forget Amherst.

Whitman College might be one to consider, if you’re okay with traveling to Walla Walla, Washington.

While different from Dartmouth, Bates in Maine, has some of the same positive features of DArtmouth.

I love Walla Walla, Washington. It’s a really cute but nice town. :D

I haven’t been to Walla Walla, but that’s what I hear, too. It’s also becoming a wine country area. My husband has relatives there who were really disappointed when our daughter chose Dartmouth over Whitman. They’re holding out hope that someone from the family will decide to go!
