Schools not accepting the old SAT

I've heard that some schools will not accept the old SAT. The only school I can find that has this policy is UChicago. Anybody know of any other good schools doing this?

I'm debating whether I really should take the new SAT. The essay I can handle; the thought of an essay + a flippin' awful writing curve makes me wet my pants.

Some colleges will only accept old SATs if you have taken the SATII Writing(no longer offered)

I figured that and took it the last time it was offered.

Rule of thumb (with exceptions, so CHECK) -

Public universities - new SAT only
Private colleges - old/new SAT

Well the UCs are obviously only accepting the new SAT (since they were the ones who wanted it changed). I don't know about anything outside of California though..sorry! =)

Thanks firelyscout! Now I know why I couldn't find the universities who weren't accepting the old SAT. I was looking exclusively at private schools.

Three private schools requiring new SAT are Brandeis, Brown and Goucher.
Wesleyan, Barnard and Dartmouth will take old + writing (SAT II) or new.

Just an additional note, US Service Academies are only accepting the new SATs / ACTs w/ writing.

Princeton will accept only the New SAT.

It says something like, "Princeton requires the applicants to take the New SAT. Although the scores from the old SAT can be submitted, they cannot replace the New SAT."

Middlebury accepts only NEW

All of the UCalifornia schoools.

princeton accepts either, i e-mailed them, but im not sure if they want sat ii writing with old one
