yes, BC, Georgetown, and Villanova all are (but don’t forget, I truly believe ND is superior to all 3) - I think a school like Duke would be a more favorable comparison though.

Rice, as well.

Check out University of Portland in Portland, OR. Curriculum is similar, sense of community too and the sports revolves around soccer–their women’s soccer is like ND football.

University of Dallas.

Just returned from freshman orientation at ND. The University does a great job. We visited Rice last summer and it was very similar in appearance to ND. Half the size, but with a similar look and feel. Rice is worth checking out if you are interested in Houston.

Vanderbilt

but does rice have a sports atmosphere like ND?

A friend just entered Wake Forest and he claims they offer a lot of support.

Rice, Duke, Dayton, UMich, USC, BC, Georgetown, … the list goes on.

What specifically are you looking for? Sports, Academics, or size or all three.

Personally there is no school out there like ND which has all three but some can offer comparison.

kmac2712–Rice’s academics are very similar as well as residential living. No fraternities! No, sports does not play into this comparison.

^^their baseball is always top in the nation.

deus- specifically all three, although size isnt that much of an issue…just not too big like a state school

Virginia, Georgia Tech

i know rice has sick baseball, but their football is not so good. seems like notre dame has more well rounded students into sports and the students at rice have the no play work hard attitude.

^^ oh thats good to know

I get what everyone is saying–and call me a Notre Dame zealot–but the only legitimate schools mentioned there are Rice and Georgetown. None of the other schools even come close to Notre Dame’s prestige, average test scores, placement, etc… Boston College is a great school but it still remains below Notre Dame. Portland? Villanova? I would say that Notre Dame is certainly on par with Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, Vandy, and WashU (and, with the ridiculous alumni network…it probably beats out Ivies like Brown and Cornell).

just my opinion…go irish!!

That’s not what the OP was asking though. Sorry it Sux2B2Dum2read.

No need to fling mud, Mombot. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t bring to attention you’re likening U of Portland’s WOMEN’s SOCCER team to the University of Notre Dame’s football team. Did anyone catch that? The parallels are endless, I’m sure.

We all stand amazed…fight on!
