Hi guys so I am making a lot of improvement in all my other ACT sections BUT science. I am really trying not to stress out and I have read previous posts about this topic and I have tried both strategies as in reading the passages and then going to the questions and then skipping the passsages and going to straight to the questions. I am really at a loss right now, and this is the section that is really pulling my success on doing better on the ACT down. HELP !Please! I am willing to work hard and I needd as much advice as I can get:)

The only thing you can really do to improve Science after a certain point is to take as many official practice sections as possible and review your mistakes. I’ve improved my Science score (highest being a 35 on an official practice section) over ten points that way.

Well for starters, I definitely recommend going straight to the questions, as time was always an issue for me. (The only exception is the passage that compares varying viewpoints of students–you need to read that thoroughly.)

But I think what works best is going into the section with a good attitude, and not getting deflated when you come across a tricky passage. I know, that doesn’t sound very helpful, but panicking in the middle of a test wastes time. Focus is key.

Lastly, know that part of it will come down to luck. Sometimes every single passage will seem foreign to you, and your score might suck. Other times, you’ll be familiar with an experiment they describe and breeze right through it. For a long time I was always stuck in the low 30’s on science. After practicing several times, I was consistently getting 33-34. Then, on my final, actual ACT I got lucky and found some of the passages easy, getting a 36.
