If you're still reading, thank you.
I plan to major in some sort of science or possibly engineering, with a possible double major or minor in music theory and/or studio art.

So..... chances for:

Williams
Amherst
Olin
Brown
UPenn
Cornell
Harvey Mudd
WashU
UMich
Brandeis
Lafayette
Case Western
UConn

Thanks!

nobody??
please????
I'll give you cookies????????
?*2^4...

Most of the schools on your list (with the exception of Brandeis, Lafayette, UConn, Case, and maaaybe UMich) are going to be reaches, just because they are. The good news is that they are not enormous or impossible reaches in any way.

Best of luck.

Looks good for Olin.

¡Muchas gracias!
hehe I need to get back to my summer reading...

...anyone else??
¿¿¿¿Por favor????
Is another empty cookie promise in order????????
?*2^4...

i wouldn't see why not to almost all of the schools above.

I disagree with the first poster; his musical talents are evident as is his dedication. Universities tend to adore such attributes since he is considering a field in the sciences, more specifically engineering. His grades, on an unweighted scale, would be close to a 4.0, that is better than most of the applicants that apply to a few of these schools. It is imperative to notice that his SATs scores are in a high range and it may continue to rise after his next SATs attempt. He has taken a rigorous courseload and most likely the best that the school offered. The lack of an AP history class shows that he is a student, who is willing to pursue his own agenda instead of wasting time with something that does not relate to his interests. Universities tendto appreciate people, who look at their perspective majors and does not attempt to be axcellent at everything. He even spent time in the summer to take these history classes with fairly high grades, instead of doing none at all. He has shown commitment through just taking time from his summer to learn about history, a subject unrelated to the sciences.

His extracurriculars clearly indicate a strong passion for the math and sciences, with a spice of music and art.

Williams, Olin, Cornell, Harvey Mudd, Brandeis, Lafayette, Case are matches.

Case Western, UConn, Washington, Michigan are your mostlikely safeties.

Amherst is your only reach, while Brown and UPenn are slight reaches. Though it should be noted that it is common for these to be a little harder to get accepted into because of their selectivity. Do not let that discourage you in anyway possible.

If the SAT score is raised, along with some of the SAT Subject IIs; mainly the spanish should be retaken. You will only need two or three of these Subject Tests, so choose chemistry and math IIc. The third one should be after you've retaken spanish so that you can choose between biology or spanish.

Keep in mind that a major and minor or two majors is very difficult, especially while majoring in engineering.

Good Luck with your choices!
