Does anyone have any insight into K's program for science and pre-med? I know that it has a good program for grad-school preparation in general, but don't know details for science majors. Other factors are keeping it on the list of possibilities, but now it's time to think hard about specifics.

My son and I visited and went on a tour a few months ago, and what stuck out to both of us was the student tour guide saying something like "Here is our new theater building" and "Here is our biology hallway."

My S does not study anything science related, so I can’t help you there, but I am pretty sure their science building (Dow) is a pretty new state-of-the-art facility. I know when we toured it, people seemed impressed (not my S’ cup of tea). I was thinking that biology and chemistry were two of their biggest majors.

Sometimes student tour guides follow their own interests. Like bbkitty, my son at K is on the social sciences side, but Kalamazoo is actually better known for the natural sciences, and my understanding is that its biology department is very good. The Dow Science Center is a terrific facility; I hope you had a chance to see it on your visit. Good luck!

Thanks for the link! It’s just what we needed.
